Aloha BrewTube:

In this episode of DJs BrewTube I am joined by UBT and we are going really “LOCAL” again reviewing more Home Brew. Not too long ago I did a beer trade with Dave of 10-21 Brewing. One of the beers that he sent was his home brew 10-21 Brewing Straight Away IPA. 10-21 Brewing Straight Away IPA is designed to be a flavorful, thirst quenching, clone of Trillium Fort Point Pale Ale with a change up of the hops. Sounds darn good to me. Anyway, enough prose, enjoy the video. My written review and report card follows:

10-21 Brewing Straight Away IPA WRITTEN REVIEW:

A – 10-21 Brewing 11-14 Pale Ale poured a clear light dark amber color with a quickly forming a 2 finger head of tight off-white bubbles. As the head receded plenty of glass lacing was left behind but only very minimal alcohol legs were observed.

S – Big citrus, mango, pineapple with a touch of piney herbal dankness in the background rounded out by sweet malt. No alcohol is detectable in the nose.

T – Follows the nose to a ( T ) with big citrus, mango, pineapple with a touch of piney herbal dankness in the background rounded out by sweet malt. No alcohol is detectable in the taste.

M – Good carbonation with a medium body and no detectable alcohol. Quite easy to drink the glass from top to bottom with a semi-dry finish.

O – 10-21 Brewing Straight Away IPA is a very well done take on an APA. For what it is, it packs well developed and rounded flavors with spot on carbonation making it super easy to drink. The alcohol is totally hidden in this brew and Violated Pale Ale has a better flavor profile then many of the commercial brews of its type thatI have recently tried. GREAT job Dave!!!!

Serving type: 16 oz Bottle

Glad you guys liked it. Maybe it should be categorized as a wheat beer it does have wheat in it. Trillium has it as a pale ale. I thought I'd round out the category's by calling it an IPA. I do love seeing the homebrew reviews. Cheers
