Aloha BrewTube:

In this episode of DJs BrewTube I am going to review Lawson’s Finest Liquids Sip Of Sunshine IPA . Lawson’s Finest Liquids Sip Of Sunshine IPA is a DIPA style beer that is meant to be a a showcase of hops and clocks in at 8.0% ABV. Lawson’s Finest Liquids describes Sip Of Sunshine IPA as follows:

“This lupulin-ladin India Pale Ale is packed with juicy tropical fruit character, bright floral aromas and delectable layers of hop flavor. Pour mindfully, inhale deeply and enjoy a tropical vacation in a glass. Always store cold, enjoy fresh and stay cool!
Sip of Sunshine IPA is brewed by Lawson’s Finest Liquids at Two Roads Brewing Co. in CT.”

Well, that description sounds great. LOL!!! Let’s see if the beer lives up to the catchy prose. Enjoy the review….. Written review follows:

Lawson’s Finest Liquids Sip Of Sunshine IPA REVIEW:

A – Lawson’s Finest Liquids Sip Of Sunshine IPA pours a super hazy amber color. The 1.5 finger head that quickly forms leaves a decent amount of glass lacing behind as it dissipates. Tons of alcohol legs were observed.

S – Tropical fruit especially citrus, followed by mango and papaya followed by pine and some faint malt aroma. I’m getting grapefruit and orange up front. There is also plenty of pine and dankness in the background. No alcohol is detectable in the aroma.

T – Follows the nose very well. Tropical fruit especially citrus, followed by mango and papaya followed by pine and some faint malt aroma. I’m getting grapefruit and orange up front. There is also plenty of pine and dankness in the background. No alcohol is detectable in the taste. This beer is all about big hop flavor and not necessarily hop bitterness. What a tasty beer.

M – Medium-Thin bodied, smoothly carbonated with a very clean and fairly dry finish. Mega easy to drink. Dangerously so in fact.

O – Lawson’s Finest Liquids Sip Of Sunshine IPA is pretty spot on in your face hop showcase that is exactly and as advertised on the label and hyped in BrewTube land. To date, its the best DIPAs I have had. Lawson’s Finest Liquids Sip Of Sunshine IPA is a beer that has masterfully hidden alcohol and big hop presence and balanced by some malt character to keep the IBUs in check. What’s not to like about that? I would trade for this beer again and recommend it.

Serving Type: Can (16 oz)

Good availability here in central CT for what it is.  You do need to know where to look and who to ask. Local beer focused restaurants are getting kegs here and there.  Not a heady beater imo, but a great beer… and like the heady i prefer drinking out the can.
DJ – I just got a sixer of Ruination 2.0. Excellent stuff.  Plan on reviewing it soon?  Cheers

I knew you'd love this one. It's my current favorite DIPA for sure. I got a 4 pack of this that was 5 days old once. After I drank it that fresh I was in love. Outstanding beer.

Heard only great stuff about these guys. I know Nick can get these and he has praised them as well. Dude, my mouth is watering listening to you describe this one. Damn does this sound like the perfect DIPA for the summer! Love that it's in a can too of course. Great review. Cheers DJ!

DJ, I think I should start watching your reviews when I first wake up in the morning. I won't need coffee anymore. There's so much energy pouring into these videos it is incredible! Haha. Are you like this off camera to? Love it. Anyways, I really like the whole idea behind Sip of Sunshine to begin with. It was a really smart plan by Sean Lawson to make almost an exact clone of his famous Double Sunshine, and make it somewhere where it could be mass produced and available to so many more people. Really dig that. Also nice to see that the beer is back to it's hazy beauty. I heard a few batches were filtered and didn't have the Lawson's quality to it anymore. Yeah, I'm sure if you had a can fresher than 2 months you may go the 100 on it. Great review. Cheers.

Great review. Man, I love this stuff. I have two cans left. I know I shouldn't hold on to them to long. But it will be hard to open the beer fridge and not see one there. Haha. I have a place about 45 mins away that sells them but I heard they have a two can limit and I can't get any info on when they get it. Just glad I got to try it.
