The Merry Gentleman – Trailer

Running away from a troubled marriage, Kate Frazier hopes to find anonymity with a new home and a new job in Chicago. When Kate meets Frank Logan, the two discover unexpected satisfaction in their mutual shared silence. Haunted by the troubling choices he has made, Frank finds a kindred spirit in the younger Kate, and, for a moment, the two seem destined to redeem and remake each other. As the holidays and New Year pass against an urban landscape that seems both breathtakingly beautiful and starkly quiet, Kate and Franks friendship becomes one of necessity and survival. But, neither lonely soul can escape the lives they have left behind. As events unfold and the painful truth slowly emerges, Frank is forced to face the man he truly is, while Kate struggles to become the woman she needs to be.

THE MERRY GENTLEMAN is a heady mix of suspense, gentle romance and quiet humor -a riveting, uniquely entertaining tale of forgiveness and redemption that blends a hopeful spirit with a surprisingly dark heart. Directed and starring Michael Keaton, also starring Kelly Macdonald, Tom Bastounes, and Bobby Canavale. Opening in select theaters on May 1st, 2009!

Anyone got any idea what the ending was supposed to mean ? Throws his hat , someone pulls up, he gets his hat back like it stopped to wait for him on the river bank and then he is just walking through the countryside.

Every single time I look for a movie with a Hitman..
It's some ridiculous Japanese Kung Fu crap.
    Or a ROMANTIC COMEDY. DAMNIT

The trailer looks good. The production company is now suing Michael Keaton, over his difficult behavior while making this movie. This movie has raked in just a little over $320,000. The loss is over $4 million.

    Hairspray won't do it alone.

But hairspray mixed with lipstick and perfume will be toxic, and traceable.

I rented this when it became available. Hadn't heard a thing about it, but it was pretty good. Quiet performances. It was different but not quirky. I may rent it again. Be nice if it were on here; save me a dollar.

Glad it didn't slip into the familiar pattern of making actors do an American accent.

I love the scene in the hospital where you can see those trees through the window. It gives you a sensation of reality, a truelly down to Earth feeling.

Just saw it tonight. Vague ending, but I liked how it was filmed like a suspense/horror type movie when it was anything but.
